More of Everything At Majestic Oaks Golf Club

Let’s start with the obvious – 45 holes of golf! Not many operations can say that. Two championship 18-hole courses and an executive nine. It sort of goes without saying that Majestic Oaks Golf Club has something for everybody. The cool thing about that, and you might not know this, but it goes way beyond golf. In fact, it goes into Dinner Theater with seasonal productions, classic American dining at The Oaks Clubhouse (dubbed the ‘46th Hole), a stunning outdoor wedding venue, a beautiful indoor customizable events center, small meeting rooms, outdoor patios – more and then some more.

Normally I like to talk about golf, but MOGC brings so many non-golf amenities and options to this corner of the Twin Cities that I would be remiss if I didn’t let you in on some of the hospitality magic that happens here in Ham Lake. If you find yourself in charge of a family reunion or a corporate outing or perhaps a community meeting, maybe a retirement celebration, or any other type of gathering, the team at Majestic Oaks can help you sort out the details and elevate the whole event to the next level. I’ve personally attended several weddings at the picturesque outdoor venue that sits ‘majestically’ near a tranquil pond surrounded in a serene natural setting and they were both stunners.

The multiple tee sheets that Adam Erickson (Head Golf Professional) and his team manage through the well-stocked pro shop must look like an accountant’s spreadsheet for a Fortune 500 company. Think about it. The potential for three foursomes teeing off every 8-10 minutes in three different directions while maintaining your cool and a welcoming smile is not for the faint of heart. This means an endless rotation on the cart fleet and plenty of hustle around the grounds. Adam also carves out time for golf instruction by offering a wide spectrum of instructional options for golfers of all ages and abilities including Private Instruction, Clinics, Group Lessons and On-Course Instruction. All of it designed to elevate the achievement of personal playing goals. If its golf related, MOGC has it covered.

Majestic Oaks hosts many tournaments throughout the season. Whether you are hosting a full-field tournament or a small group of family and friends, the MOGC tournament management staff will use their expertise to create a memorable outing for your guests by including unique, customized features at every corner.

Utilizing both the Signature Course and the Crossroads Course Adam and the team have leagues going out Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, and Thirsty Thursday nights. It’s a first sign-up, first in opportunity and the leagues tend to fill fast.  Costs are quite reasonable and are open to golfers of all ages and abilities. Leagues run May through September beginning at 6:00 pm. Handicaps are not required, and golfers may sign up individually or as a twosome or foursome for fun and competitive play. Each weekly tourney features social activities and prizes. Like I said, “Something for everybody!”

The two Championship golf courses complement each other very well. One feels stately, mature and slightly epic (the Signature); the other (the Crossroads) feels more brash, more modern and slightly more relaxed. Both offer a fantastic variety of hole designs where water hazards and blind corners will keep you on your toes. There isn’t a ton of elevation on this slice of Ham Lake so mature trees that tighten fairway landing zones and natural marshlands tend to encroach at the most challenging of spots. The Signature course can be a monster from the tips (7,330 yards) but also offers tee boxes all the way down to 5,135 yards which gives players of all skill levels a playable yardage. The Crossroads course tends to play with your head, involving more target golf and more finessed iron work. At 6,398 yards from the back tees, it’s a whole notch shorter and again the front tee’s come in around 4,800 yards making it ‘beginner friendly.’ The Executive nine course is a string of short par 3s with one par 4 that converts into a ‘foot golf’ course for those soccer inclined patrons. Which sounds like a fun time with holes ranging from 90 yards up to 305 yards on that par 4 hole.

With all this golfing activity spread across three courses, Majestic Oaks tries to keep a handle on pace of play. This should be a welcome indicator to all players that your round will most likely finish in under 4½ hours. This is customer centric thinking at its best. Adam and his team make it clear; they are at your service and have your best interests in mind. With so much happening and the parking lot buzzing with coming and going, Majestic Oaks runs like a Swiss watch. The whole operation continues to exceed expectations while offering you more of everything, including friendly fun.
