There are golf courses that simply provide a tee time, and then there are golf destinations that create an entire experience the moment you pull into the parking lot. The Meadows at Mystic Lake continues to establish itself as one of the premier golf destinations in the Midwest because it delivers much more than 18 holes. From championship-caliber course conditions and player development programs to entertainment, dining, gaming and year-round golf opportunities, The Meadows and Mystic Lake Casino Hotel has become a complete getaway for golfers and non-golfers alike.

“We’re really focused on providing a great golf experience this year and doing some high-level events,” Director of Golf Mike Luckraft said. “We have a championship golf course, with great conditions. In fact, we’ve recently added new tee boxes on #4 and #8 and have been trimming a few trees to open up some spaces to stay consistent with great turf conditions.”

That statement is backed up everywhere golfers look at The Meadows. The Garrett Gill and Paul Miller-designed layout has now spent two decades building a reputation as one of the finest public golf experiences in Minnesota. Stretching more than 7,200 yards from the back tees, the course combines pristine bentgrass fairways and greens with dramatic water features, rolling terrain and acres of native prairie grasses and wildflowers.

The golf course feels both challenging and peaceful at the same time. Water comes into play on much of the layout, creating strategy on nearly every hole while also adding to the beauty of the property. Five waterfalls and a winding brook help define the course visually, while the carefully maintained conditions make every approach shot and every putt feel true. Golfers immediately recognize the amount of detail that goes into maintaining The Meadows at such a high level throughout the season.

The course’s signature finishing hole leaves a lasting impression. The par-5 18th demands precision and nerve with a peninsula-style green protected by water and accented by a waterfall cascading nearby. It is the kind of finishing hole golfers remember long after the round is complete.

One of the most appreciated aspects of The Meadows experience is the pace and atmosphere of play. Tee times are separated by 12 minutes, something increasingly rare in modern golf. Those extra minutes create breathing room and a quieter experience that allows players to appreciate the course, the scenery and the company around them.

The visual experience at The Meadows also separates it from many courses throughout the region. Bronze and brass statues of wildlife are placed throughout the course, symbolizing the importance of the land and the natural surroundings. Players encounter statues of buffalo, deer, eagles, bears and horses as they move from hole to hole, creating a unique atmosphere that blends golf with art and culture.

Practice facilities have become another major strength of The Meadows. Golfers looking to improve their game have access to a full driving range, a 14,000-square-foot putting green and The Mesa short game facility, which features four distinct greens and multiple bunkers for wedge and short-game work. The pro shop also includes Trackman technology, allowing players to analyze swing and ball flight data throughout the year.

Luckraft and his staff continue to focus not only on experienced golfers, but also on introducing new players to the game. That effort has become especially evident through the expansion of their junior golf program.

“We have expanded our junior program over the past couple of years to include the PGA Junior League and our own Meadows Junior Golf Program, which has three one-week sessions in June, July and August,” Luckraft said.

The junior golf growth reflects the larger momentum surrounding golf at Mystic Lake. Families are increasingly searching for welcoming environments where kids can learn the game, and The Meadows has embraced that opportunity. The programs focus on instruction, fun and development while helping young players build confidence around the course and practice facilities.

That growth also ties directly into the emergence of LaunchPad Golf The Meadows, which has quickly become one of the most exciting additions to the Mystic Lake entertainment experience. LaunchPad Golf features year-round golf entertainment with heated suites, technology-driven games, food, drinks and a social atmosphere designed to welcome both golfers and newcomers.

“The connection between LaunchPad Golf and The Meadows was strong this winter,” Luckraft said. “A lot of new golfers started playing at LaunchPad and we’ll transition some of those players over to The Meadows, and vice versa as the season rolls on.”

That relationship creates a natural pathway into golf. Someone who first picks up a club at LaunchPad during the winter can eventually find themselves playing nine or 18 holes at The Meadows during the summer. At the same time, experienced golfers who enjoy The Meadows can continue practicing and socializing year-round at LaunchPad. Together, the two properties create one of the most complete golf ecosystems in the region.

Beyond golf, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel transforms a golf trip into a full resort getaway. The hotel features 766 guest rooms, making it easy for players to turn a round of golf into a weekend experience. Golf packages available through Mystic Lake include discounted hotel rates, golf rounds, cart usage and exclusive tee-time access for hotel guests.

The casino itself remains one of the largest entertainment attractions in the Midwest. Guests can enjoy slot machines, table games, poker and an ongoing schedule of casino promotions and giveaways throughout the year. Club M rewards members receive access to special offers, giveaways and gaming promotions that add another level of excitement to a Mystic Lake visit.

Dining also plays a major role in the overall experience. Golfers regularly gather at The Meadows Bar and Grille after their rounds to relax on the patio overlooking the course. The combination of great views, food and drinks creates the perfect ending to a golf day. Beyond the golf clubhouse, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel features 10 restaurants and dining options ranging from casual meals to upscale dining experiences.

Entertainment continues long after the golf carts are parked. Mystic Lake Casino Hotel’s Showroom and outdoor Amphitheater consistently attract nationally known musicians, comedians and performers. Concert nights create another layer of energy around the property, giving guests the opportunity to pair championship golf with live entertainment all in one destination. The resort also hosts events throughout the year, helping create a lively atmosphere that extends well beyond the golf course. Keep your eye out for Cheap Trick, Dave Matthews Band, Bob Dylan, The Guess Who, John Mellencamp, Chris Stapleton, Guns N’ Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, Pitbull and many more!

What ultimately makes The Meadows at Mystic Lake stand out is how seamlessly everything works together. The golf course delivers elite public golf conditions. The junior programs continue to grow the game. LaunchPad Golf introduces golf to new audiences year-round. The casino, hotel, dining and entertainment offerings create a complete resort experience.

Whether someone arrives for a competitive round, a buddy trip weekend, a concert at the amphitheater or simply a getaway that mixes golf with entertainment, The Meadows at Mystic Lake continues to prove why it remains one of Minnesota’s premier golf and resort destinations.
