Isabella McCauley of Inver Grove Heights and Nate Deziel of East Grand Forks claimed the 2018 Girls and Boys Players Tour Tournament of Champions with wins at Minnesota National Golf Course.

In 1941 the Toro Manufacturing Co. had three Toro Generals on the assembly line, building them for delivery in 1942 for their respective customers. When WWII started the units were put on hold and Toro, as many companies did, teamed up to help our armed forces.

With the final installment of the 3M Championship, the winner’s name will be etched on the trophy and in history.

As the 3M Championship presented by Post-it Products is contested this year, the best players on the PGA TOUR Champions will battle for the trophy. At the end of the week there will be a champion, but the run-away winner will be charity.

The 2018 3M Championship will be the last PGA TOUR Champions event in Minnesota. For the past 26 years, golf fans from Minnesota and the upper Midwest have been amazed and amused by the cast of characters who have entertained us.

There are so many special moments to look back on and best of all, there are so many more moments just around the corner as we look to the future. The promise of that future would not have been possible without the outstanding work of the 3M Championship team.

The 1960’s was one of those decades in history that screams, “Look at me.” So many milestones… so many highs… so many lows. Political movements, cultural movements, musical movements, economic growth and right alongside the growth in all major sports was growth for the game of golf.

It’s an epidemic. People (golfers mostly) keep hitting the wrong ball. You’d think they’d be more cognizant – more aware of their egregious errors – but they just keep doing it, and it is costing them dearly. Are you one of “those people?” Are YOU hitting (playing) the right ball?

This issue we feature Don Berry, Director of Golf and Head PGA Professional at Edinburgh USA in Brooklyn Center. Don is one of the most decorated players in Minnesota Golf History as a 16-time MN Section PGA Player of the Year.

OK… admittedly I am going to tread a little lightly with this topic. I’ve been in the golf business a long time and have known many great facility owners. These were smart business people with great ideas about how to make a day of golf special for anyone that played their course.

It’s not often you’re able to close out a golf tournament bogey-bogey-bogey for the win, but that is all Andrew McCain needed to claim his second Minnesota State Open title at Bunker Hills Golf Course.
