2025 3M Open: Events, Entertainment, and Community Engagement Redefine Golf in Minnesota

As the 3M Open returns to TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota this July, the tournament promises much more than world-class golf. From community celebrations and STEM-inspired youth outreach to military tributes and live music, the 2025 3M Open is redefining what a PGA TOUR event can be. With a robust lineup of events, innovative fan experiences, and a renewed focus on sustainability and inclusion, this year’s tournament is set to engage fans of all ages and backgrounds—both on and off the course.

Golf 4 All Day – Tuesday, July 22

Kicking off tournament week with impact and inspiration, Golf 4 All Day returns on Tuesday, July 22 from 1–4 p.m., welcoming 500 local youth to experience golf through the exciting lenses of science, food, and music. Hosted in partnership with 3M, the event transforms the grounds of TPC Twin Cities into an interactive learning hub.

Participants will explore future career opportunities in STEM, sports, and skilled trades via hands-on exhibits and activations. This immersive experience will also feature appearances by a star-studded lineup of current and former athletes including Kyle Rudolph, John Randle, Randall McDaniel, Michael Floyd, and Melvin Gordon, the latter appearing through VIBEZ Golf Club. The event reflects 3M’s ongoing commitment to education, youth empowerment, and community impact.

Folds of Honor Friday – Friday, July 25

The tournament pauses to honor America’s heroes during Folds of Honor Friday on July 25. In collaboration with Huntington Bank, Cub, and Ascentek, this heartfelt event encourages spectators to wear red, white, and blue in support of U.S. service members and first responders.

A stirring rendition of the national anthem will kick off the day’s action at the first tee, setting a patriotic tone. New for 2025, Patriot Scouts will be roaming the grounds, surprising fans who proudly sport the colors of freedom with special giveaways. This powerful tradition is part of a PGA TOUR-wide initiative founded by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot and PGA Professional who founded Folds of Honor to provide scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled service members.

Swings and Strings presented by Scotch™ Brand – Saturday, July 26

As the third round concludes on Saturday evening, July 26, the tournament atmosphere shifts from golf to music with Swings and Strings, a concert event presented by Scotch™ Brand. Country star Lee Brice takes the stage on-site at TPC Twin Cities, bringing chart-topping hits and feel-good energy to the fans.

The concert is free for all Saturday ticket holders and begins around 6 p.m., immediately following the day’s final putts. For full ticketing details and package upgrades, fans are encouraged to visit 3MOpen.com.

Family Day – Sunday, July 27

Championship Sunday doubles as Family Day, making the final round of golf an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages. A highlight of the day includes a meet-and-greet with Blippi and Meekah, beloved children’s entertainers, presented by Post-it® Brand (ticket required).

Fan Village will feature special family promotions including the Sunday Special: $20 Family Meal Deal—offering four hot dogs and four non-alcoholic drinks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cub Grill. Throughout the day, kids can enjoy autograph zones, appearances by local sports mascots, and plenty of interactive games and surprises.

Tournament and Community Highlights

25 Years of TPC Twin Cities

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025, TPC Twin Cities is a course steeped in both tradition and innovation. Originally designed by Arnold Palmer in collaboration with Minnesotan Tom Lehman, the course has hosted the 3M Open since it became a PGA TOUR event in 2019. From the 3M Championship era (2001–2018) to today’s elevated experience, the venue has played a crucial role in Minnesota’s golfing legacy.

Sustainability Commitment

For the third consecutive year, the 3M Open is leading the charge on environmental responsibility. As a 2023 and 2024 PGA TOUR Sustainability Award finalist, the tournament continues to drive impactful initiatives in 2025, including:

  • Achieving an 80%+ waste diversion rate, moving toward Zero Waste to Landfill.
  • Expanding composting and donation efforts, especially around construction and demolition waste.
  • Partnering with local organizations to promote eco-conscious fan engagement and vendor compliance.

A New Era: The 2025 3M Open Trophy

This year, the 3M Open unveils its newly designed trophy, marking a bold new era for the tournament. Inspired by the helix of DNA, the trophy’s sweeping, circular design represents both scientific progress and the elegance of the golf swing.

Crafted in-house using 3M’s most advanced materials—including architectural films, adhesives, and abrasives—the trophy is more than a prize; it’s a symbol of ingenuity, precision, and community impact.

As the 3M Open enters a milestone year, it’s clear this tournament is more than just a golf event. It’s a celebration of innovation, inclusion, and inspiration—connecting fans, families, and communities through the unifying power of sport, science, and shared experiences. Whether you’re there for the action on the fairways or the fun off the greens, the 2025 3M Open promises to be a week to remember.
