The Meadows at Mystic Lake Golf Course burst on to the Twin Cities golf scene in 2005. For 20 years, this Garrett Gill and Paul Miller design has delivered impeccable conditions and a golf visual that is one of a kind.

If you’ve yet to venture to Prior Lake, Minnesota, to play this 7,200-yard layout that’s accented by a plethora of water features and acres of wildflowers, the question is, “What are you waiting for?” In 2025, the tee sheet is nearly overflowing, but the Meadows seasoned team makes a conscious effort to cater to every category of their growing audience.

“Mystic Lake does things right. As the golf arm of the casino and hotel, The Meadows has earned a reputation as one of the best group golf venues in Minnesota. With our entertainment options beyond golf, we’re one of the top buddy trip and corporate outing destinations. At the same time, we’re very conscious of accommodating our hotel guests looking to golf, our thriving junior program, and daily play from the greater Twin Cities golf community,” Director of Golf Mike Luckraft said.

A Summer Like No Other

On a 72-degree Saturday in July, golf reigns supreme in Prior Lake. The Meadows parking lot revealed license plates from nearly every state in the Midwest. With the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel sporting 766 guest rooms, this is the perfect golf escape if you’d like to book a long-weekend or simply need a place to rest your head if you’re adding one of Mystic’s entertainment options to your epic 18 holes.

Like many of the best courses throughout America, The Meadows at Mystic Lake is enjoying the golf industry renaissance that has continued since COVID. How vibrant is The Meadows golf scene? “We’ve seen 26,000 rounds in 2025,” Luckraft said.

The Meadows offers several unique features that help make the course a favorite of returning golfers and those traveling to this destination for the first time. What can you expect from your Meadows golf experience?

Practice Makes Perfect

The Meadows driving range, 14,000-square-foot putting green, and new short game facility make the course a homerun for those looking to improve their game. The Mesa short game facility features four distinctive greens and three greenside bunkers.

For those looking to practice year-round, The Meadows pro shop includes Trackman for accurate swing and ball flight analysis.

LaunchPad Golf

Mystic Lake is thrilled to add LaunchPad Golf to their wealth of amenities. With two tiers of year-round indoor and outdoor golf, LaunchPad features the latest in golf technology. With 40 heated bays, the site is due to open this fall and will include two restaurants a vibrant bar scene and the best in music.

The soon to open LaunchPad is a highly anticipated golf addition for those seeking year-round access to golf. “Launchpad Golf is a huge addition to golf and entertainment at SMSC. It’s been two years in the works. The SMSC members surrounding community, hotel guests, and our frequent golfers are all very excited for that enterprise to open,” Luckraft enthusiastically states.

The Great Outdoors In The City

As you step outside from The Meadows at Mystic Lake’s well-stocked pro shop, the initial view of your upcoming 18 holes of golf is as expansive as it is impressive. Lush green scenery, Minnesota’s trademark water, and bridges connecting you to nature. All come together seamlessly.

One of The Meadows signature unique elements are the bronze and brass statues that highlight your golf journey. As your black E-Z-GO golf cart veers toward the 412-yard, Par 4, first hole, from the corner of your eye you spy something you don’t see every day. Just above the 10th hole tee marker are four bronze horses that appear to be thundering down a hill.

These statues are part of the course’s effort to promote cultural sensitivity and awareness of the land’s importance. The statues include a bear, eagle, fox, deer, moose, and buffalo. All are vivid reminders of how we coexist with the animals that grace the land where we are now playing golf.

Indulge In The Quiet

What’s appreciated about playing The Meadows is the quiet that accompanies your round. The Meadows tee times are separated by 12 minutes. It’s amazing how two extra minutes adds a layer of peace to your round.

The water, the fescue, and the wild grasses that Gill and Miller integrate into The Meadows playing experience create a separation from one hole to another. It’s the little things that make playing at The Meadows a joy.

Water is evident on 13 of The Meadows 18 holes. In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, this water connection culminates on the Par 5, 595-yard, 18th hole. Your approach shot contends with a peninsula green where you’re separated by a pond in front and a waterfall to your right. The Meadows finishing hole is challenging, visually stimulating, and a treasured moment for your golf memory bank.

The Magic At Mystic – Beyond Golf
