Yoemans Wins Back to Back Minnesota Girls Junior PGA Titles

Sophia Yoemans shot a final round 1-over par 73 to finish even-par on the weekend and claim the 2018 Minnesota Girls Junior PGA Championship at Minnewaska Golf Club in Glenwood, Minn. Yoemans’ two-day, even par score of 144 was more than enough to secure her victory and a spot at the 43rd Junior PGA Championship that was held at Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Ken. on July 9-12, 2018.

Yoemans, a Red Wing, Minnesota native and Mizzou golf commit, was joined by Nebraska golf commit and long-time Red Wing teammate, Leah Herzog and Inver Grove Heights native Isabella McCauley at the national competition.

This was the second year in a row that the Red Wing teammates played together at the Junior PGA Championship.

Yoemans placed T-36 with a four-day even-par 288 total at the Junior PGA Championship while Herzog (+9) and McCauley (+5) missed the cut.
