MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Donates Two-Night, Three-Round Package To Benefit Salute To Servicewomen Golf Classic
There are a number of worthy events and organizations committed to assisting America’s military veterans, and MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com is proud to support the Salute to Servicewomen Golf Classic, a one-day tournament dedicated to helping homeless female veterans find housing.
The 2023 event is being held today, June 20 at Prestwick Golf Club, and MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com will be donating a three-night, three-round Myrtle Beach Vacation for 4 people to help raise money for our women veterans.
The Myrtle Beach golf trip includes two nights at the Myrtlewood Villas, rounds at the PineHills Course at Myrtlewood, Burning Ridge and Myrtle Beach National’s SouthCreek course (provided by MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com) plus a $500 Delta Gift Card (provided by Amerivet).
Salute to Servicewomen was created because sometimes America’s veterans need more than a “thank you.” The event, entering its 10th year, raises money to provide homeless female veterans with safe housing, psychological counseling, and job placement.
“We all owe a debt of gratitude to our service men and women – past and present – who have helped secure the freedoms we all enjoy,” said Karen Altman, MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com director of marketing. “We are proud to support the Salute to Servicewomen Golf Classic and help women who have served our great nation get through a difficult time and begin looking forward to a bright future.”
In 2022, the Salute to Servicewomen Golf Classic raised over $41,000 that was used to transition 10 women veterans from homelessness to stable housing at an average cost of $4,100 per veteran. The effort included rent support, down payment, moving fees, insurance waivers and other moving costs through the services of the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), a 501(c)3 organization. In total, MACV has supported a total 1,400 veterans, including over 150 women veterans, to reach their goal of eliminating veteran homelessness.
The 2023 event continues to support the unique needs of women veterans and their families. The support could come in the form of transition costs from homelessness to stable housing, furnishing new housing units, including MACV’s innovative Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), and single-family homes used by female veterans. Again this year, 100 percent of the funds raised through this event go to direct services, not operational costs.
