Giants Ridge Wrapping Up The Ski Season
You probably know about Giants Ridge’s two spectacular golf courses – Legend and Quarry, but they are also known as Minnesota’s top rated ski and snowboard hot spot – with 35 downhill ski runs, over 60 km of the finest groomed Nordic ski trails and the best snowboarding terrain park in Minnesota!
Lets take a look at the fun activities Giants Ridge offered the last few months.
February and March brought a whole bunch of fun to Giants Ridge! February was fantastic at Giants Ridge! With a 32-50” base on northeastern Minnesota’s Mesabi Iron Range, their snow conditions were better than ever.
Giants Ridge was proud to host the Minnesota State High School League Ski Championships again this season. Presidents’ weekend always makes a great long weekend for a winter vacation getaway at Giants Ridge.
Ladies Snowshoeing by Moonlight events were held in both February and March. Both events were a huge HIT! Giants Ridge offered a Beginner trail hike + Intermediate/Advanced hike for each event
+ equipment rental + headlamp use + dinner + wine afterward! How could you go wrong?
The fun times continued into March with the Surly Beer Four-Course Dinner held on March 8th. This special Surly Beer dinner mixed Minnesota’s favorite craft beer with Iron Range’s premier dining destination Burnt Onion Kitchen & Brews at Giants Ridge.
This fun, interactive, four-course dinner featured a sampling of Surly Brewing’s popular beers, including Furious Indian Pale Ale. Their food for the evening, crafted by their Executive Chef Kellie Hunter, played with the flavors of the beer paired with each of the four dining courses.

The Giants Ridge Spring Festival/Slush Cup held March 16th celebrated everything winter. People dressed as their favorite rock group from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or 2000s – representing their favorite era of ROCK N ROLL! Fans lined up to watch contestants as they tried to ski across a 92-foot long pond filled with 52,000 gallons of water.
The Sarajevo Century Event, held on March 23rd, was a test of speed, a test of strength, and a test of endurance. Skiers of all ages were part of this 100-lap event, while riding the Ridge’s newest high-speed chairlift, the Sarajevo Express.
The first to do 100 laps in their age category WON a 2019-2020 Giants Ridge Season Pass! 2nd place in each division took home a $100 Giants Ridge gift card. 3rd place won a $50 Giants Ridge gift card.
