Trump Golf Courses

The Psychic loves golf. He loves to play golf! He loves to watch golf on television. At one time he even enjoyed practicing golf. On one occasion prior to the club championship he hit three large buckets attempting to get comfortable with a tip he read in Golf Digest. The Psychic recalls with a gentle smile, “I still lost in the second round of match play.”

The final round of the Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale has just ended and the Psychic is surfing the news channels to catch up on the day’s events. Trump’s Executive Orders echoes on all the news channels. “I love what Trump is doing, but I get so tired of him bragging about all the stuff he has accomplished. I did vote for him, but I have always been an Independent,” he thought.

As the Psychic is watching Trump the talking heads, the news anchor mentions that prior to attending the Superbowl, President Trump played golf with Tiger Woods at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida.

A question popped into the Psychics head, “How many golf courses does Trump’s empire own?” A quick Google informs the Psychic that Trump owns 17 golf courses and resorts in the U.S. and around the world.

The Psychic turns his attention to watching the Super Bowl on the flat screen, but he can’t get Trump golf courses out of his mind. The Psychic understands that Trump is one of the best businessmen in history. How will he use the celebrity of his Presidency to promote his golf courses once he is out of office?

With his total focus on Trump Golf, the Psychic flips off the TV and subconsciously moves into his study. With his right hand he grabs the turban and with his left he removes the shammy from the crystal ball. With the turban askew, his gaze is immediately drawn deeply into the sphere. The first vision is of a younger pre-President Trump entertaining the women members of the LPGA in 2001. Then again in 2008. Trump golf courses hosted two season ending LPGA Tour events. Trump courses have also hosted USGA Junior Championships for both boys and girls.

The image from the depths of the sphere becomes foggy. Slowly the fog clears to a boardroom meeting in 2014, Trump and the PGA of America executives are working out details of a contract. With a felt tip pen, Trump agrees to host the 2017 PGA Senior Championship and the 2022 PGA Championship at his courses.

The scene switches to President Trump making a controversial speech in June of 2015. “They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,” he said. Amid the backlash from the speech, the LPGA, PGA of America, PGA TOUR and the USGA issued a joint statement, “While our organizations do not usually comment on Presidential politics, Mr. Trump’s comments are inconsistent with our strong commitment to an inclusive and welcoming environment in the game of golf.” Then in a knee jerk reaction, the PGA of America cancelled the 2015 PGA Grand Slam of Golf to be played at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angles. Other upcoming events at Trump courses were not affected.

The crystal ball read the Psychic’s mind and scrolls through all 17 Trump courses. The Psychic realizes that Trump owns a staple of wonderful golf courses that attract some of the world’s riches people as players and members.

In a whirlwind the Psychic is transported to 2028 and beyond. He sees past-President Donald J. Trump in a constant lobby situation. He is working the R&A Golf Association to host an Open Championship at his golf club in Scotland. Of course, the master negotiator gets his now mature Scottish links golf course placed in the Open rotation. The R&A sees nothing but £ signs in their eyes. The worldwide television audience will be bigger than any other golf event – ever.

Trump along with a throng of his corporate buddies, who along with most Americans grew their wealth during Trump’s tenure, gently twist the arm of the USGA. Trump’s golf clubs will host future U.S. Opens, Women’s Opens, Senior Opens and USGA Amateur Championships on a regular basis for years to come.

Finally the crystal ball shifts to Dubai as Trump sits sipping tea with the sheiks as they plan a series of world golf championships on his courses in Dubai. The purses will be the largest of all time and the winners will become golf royalty. Green jackets will be replaced with gold plated Rolls Royce automobiles. Trump’s new golf course in the Persian Gulf is a series of man-made islands. Each island is one of 36 remarkable golf holes. Some tee shots will be played from one island to the other.

Stay tuned.
