Majestic Oaks Golf Club – The Club You Can Count On

Let’s face it; 2020 is probably the most difficult year that many of us have been through. In this year of uncertainty, I’d like to offer up a golf course you can count on: Majestic Oaks. I’ve written about Majestic Oaks in these pages before, and it really is a place for everybody. With 45 holes and the ability to accommodate your group, no matter the size, Majestic Oaks is a reliable option in a time where very little is. If you’ve been on any golf course these last few months, you know that it’s been busy just about everywhere and Majestic Oaks is no different. Emmett Lincoln, Jr., General Manager, says, “It’s been a good year for golf after we reopened, and things are really just beginning. We really enjoy seeing new faces at Majestic Oaks and the return of long time guests. This is the climate that we’re in, and our goal is to do things to keep people coming back. We know we’re a golf course, but we’re also working to get where we want to be.”

As usual, the 45 holes at Majestic Oaks are used often. Head golf professional Adam Erickson says there’s something for everyone. The oldest (and my favorite) 18-hole course is The Signature – a course that can get stretched out to 7,300 yards – and the other 18-hole course is The Crossroads, a shorter, but tighter course. Besides these two is the 9-hole executive course which is often filled with junior golfers. Adam says they sold about 10 times the number of junior passes as in previous years!

Two specials to keep in mind when booking your tee time, one for each of the 18-hole courses: The Signature has an 8:00 shotgun every weekday (unless there’s some other event). Your $39 will get you 18 holes, a cart and lunch after your round. At The Crossroads, if you have a patron card, you can play for $30 any day, any time. If you’re one who doesn’t have the time for a full round, you can get yourself a membership to the driving range where you get unlimited range balls and access to the Executive 9 too.

While the golf courses have been in great demand, Emmett brought up that fact that they resumed their busy tournament and wedding schedule this month with proper social distancing and golfing/tournament guidelines. “We work with everybody,” says Emmett, “and follow the CDC rules for social distancing to make your event a special one.”

The Oaks Bar and Grill recently rolled out a new menu, and Emmett talked about things that are in the works, like concerts, bingo, and other events that they have had in the past. It won’t look the same, but guests can still enjoy safely. When I asked about any bands who were set to play, he said they haven’t gotten that far in the planning, but that he hoped to have things figured out for the future. One thing that has been is their monthly Family To-Go Specials where you can get a full meal for a family of four. July’s special features spareribs and barbecue chicken with three sides and dessert – quite a deal for $45.

Speaking of the special events at Majestic Oaks, I also had the chance to talk to Pam Schultz, Director of Tournament sales. She raved about the people and staff at Majestic Oaks. “We are the hub of tournament golf in the Twin Cities, and I think we have the best execution of tournaments anywhere. We are able to create a relaxed, party atmosphere and that keeps lots of groups coming back.” In years past, they’ve had upwards of 150 tournaments/events. While COVID-19 has lessened that number this year, Majestic Oaks has a well-trained staff and has established itself as a place that will, in Pam’s words, “Exceed your expectations.” But even if you’re not there for an event, Pam says that they have plenty of staff who keep coming back to work and that only adds to the enjoyable experience.

The staff at Majestic Oaks works hard to build strong relationships with their customers. Beverage cart driver Taylor Finnes says she enjoys getting to know the regulars and forming relationships. “We get to know them personally. For example, I was asking one of the regulars about his new grandson the other day.” It’s that kind of attention to detail that makes Majestic Oaks a course for everyone and a place you can count on. In these times, that’s truly something to appreciate.

Emmett says, “We look forward to having new guests join us for a round of golf, tournaments, or just to sit and dine with us safely.”
