Red Wing Golf Course Elevates Its Game

At over 100 years old, the Red Wing Golf Course offers patrons a unique and scenic golf experience rich in history located in the heart of Minnesota’s bluff country. The once-private course is now public, and new ownership has made updates to the property a top priority in order to attract and grow its customer base locally as well as throughout southwestern Minnesota and the nearby Twin Cities metropolitan area.
The latest renovation is The Walsh House, a Victorian beauty from the late 1800’s that sits adjacent to the 18th hole, not far from the clubhouse. This charming property is complete with 4 beds, 5 baths, 3 fireplaces, and an updated kitchen, and accommodates up to ten people.
The Walsh House provides convenient lodging for golfers, bridal parties, and serves as  a comfortable gathering place for any group’s next visit to the area. The Walsh House is located just minutes away from downtown Red Wing, and less than an hour’s drive from the Twin Cities.
Additionally, large scale renovations are being made to the clubhouse building, doubling the space and adding amenities to the event center, aptly named the Sky Room for the panoramic views of the surrounding bluffs, large skylight and wrap-around deck. The venue is set to open in October 2019,  will seat up to 300 and have a full catering menu, two bars and a bridal suite. The more casual on-site dining option at RWGC is the Nineteen Bar and Grill, which is also undergoing significant updates, including the addition of a full-service kitchen, and will offer wood-fire pizzas, a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers and fish fry as well as full bar service, set to be complete in early August.
