Many of the greatest players in LPGA history will compete in the inaugural Land O’Lakes Legends Classic Presented by The Meadows at Mystic Lake from August 5-7, 2021. The event will showcase a celebration of women’s golf by featuring the legends of the LPGA – including LPGA and World Golf Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez and local star Michele Redman – while also showcasing the future of the game and many of the state’s top women amateurs through clinics and exhibitions.

The event is co-owned by Redman, a two-time LPGA Tour winner and former head coach of the University of Minnesota women’s golf program, and Jim Lehman, president of Medalist Management and former president of the Minnesota Golf Association.

“The Land O’Lakes Legends Classic will be a multiday celebration of women’s golf,” said Redman. “From clinics, exhibitions, a pro-am and the official Legends Tour play, this will be a great atmosphere, and fans will be treated to a truly special week and a chance to see some incredible golf. We are excited to partner with Land O’Lakes and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community to deliver a fun, welcoming, family friendly, community-centered golf event to the Twin Cities region this summer.”

Title sponsor Land O’Lakes is based in nearby Arden Hills, Minnesota. “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Land O’Lakes Legends Classic – an event celebrating community spirit, the rich and important 70+ year history of the LPGA, the greats of golf, and some friendly competition,” said Kim Olson, chief communications officer of Land O’Lakes. “As a Minnesota-based farmer cooperative, we’re thankful for the opportunity to partner with Michele Redman and Jim Lehman and Mystic Lake to bring this exciting event to life in our own backyard.”

The Meadows at Mystic Lake is owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and is just 25 minutes southwest of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

“The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is thrilled to be hosting the Land O’Lakes Legends Classic this August at one of our wonderful enterprises – The Meadows at Mystic Lake,” said Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Chairman Keith Anderson. “Surrounded by acres of wildflowers and prairie plants with water on 13 holes, The Meadows is a golf course unlike any other. We can’t wait for players and fans alike to come enjoy the unique, challenging and scenic golf experience at Mystic Lake.”

The 36-hole tournament will begin on Thursday, August 5, with a pro-am featuring teams of four amateurs and a pro. The official tournament will run on August 6 and 7 featuring 44 players, including 40 legends of the LPGA and four top regional women amateurs from the Twin Cities area.

The tournament also will welcome fans, and tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $25 and children 17 and under are free. The event will follow health and safety protocols established by Tribal Public Health.
