Get Into The ‘Zone’

It’s that time of year again when we dust off the clubs and start thinking about how we’re going to improve our game. It wouldn’t hurt to start with some stretching and maybe work your way towards some strengthening exercises because we all know those 280-yard drives don’t hit themselves.  There is one more activity to add to the list of game improvements and that is visiting the driving range.  Take a peek out the window and you might notice there is still snow on the ground.  No worries, owner Brian Colvin and his staff at Golf Zone has your needs covered.

Sure, Winter golf trips are a blast and possibly a little expensive, they have their place in the world of off-season recreation, but if you want to let the big-dog-eat without breaking the bank swing over to Chaska and get your swing on.  You can take all kinds of satisfaction in watching that driver do its thing going long and straight.  To do that, there is no better place in town than Golf Zone.  Conveniently located near the intersection of Hwy 101 and Flying Cloud Road in the heart of the Twin Cities golfing mecca, Chaska.

The ‘Zone’ is stacked with 32 (yes 32!) heated stalls that allows you a full swing for full-length drives and all shots in-between.  Work on your green side chips or those testy mid-irons or that stubborn 3 wood you need to finally get under control. The smart layout at Golf Zone provides all kinds of elbow room to go at it by the hour or half-hour, whatever your swing needs. Its set-up perfect for buddies, gals or couples and should leave you feeling very good about your game going into the 2023 season. Tables and bar stools are available for your comfort at every stall. Live television is viewable from each hitting mat. The heaters and fans do a great job keeping the climate inside the stalls optimal for your comfort. This full-length driving range is unparalleled in the Twin Cities but there’s more.  Each of the driving range stalls features Toptracer Range technology, which includes up to 10 mini games and 21 World renowned course options.  Boom!   That is customer-first thinking.

Golf Zone also has a range of packages that offer significant savings when purchasing time in bulk from 250 minutes up to 950 minutes with beverages. A Senior Special (Monday-Friday) offers 25% off range fees for customer’s 60-years young and up. Brian and his team also offer party packages for groups of 10 or 15 that roll-out the pizzas and beverages alongside some classic mini-golf.

The indoors mini-golf course ‘Big Bear Putt’ is a full ‘bells and whistles’ 18-hole course with an authentic North Woods theme. Brian and his crew have put plenty of thought and hard work into the design with an emphasis on the word ‘fun’. The course features sand traps, creeks, lighted trees, undulated greens, multi-elevations, a waterfall and lots of carved wood critters along the way. Rates are family friendly with a ½ price replay rate in case you want to keep on putting. The course layout and overall space is perfect for children or adult birthday parties. It provides a comfortable, informal setting for corporate team building events as well. After hitting the long-balls on the outdoor range, Big Bear Putt offers a perfect short-game follow-up indoors.

In addition to the mini-golf course there is an indoor practice putting green for some serious dialing in of the new putter.  For the summer months Brian has smartly included a large sand bunker practice area that allows for all aspects of your sand game improvement.  Along with the bunker is a chipping area and an outside green for more putting.  No game improvement needs have been left off the table.

If fine-tuning your game and swing mechanics is a priority in 2023, Golf Zone has smartly partnered with GolfTrack Academy to offer personal lessons on-site, either in groups or individually.  GolfTrack which is located in Chanhassen is championing the PGA Junior Camps, high school player development programs and is led by PGA Coaches Kevin Lucken and Kevin Williams who combine for 40 years of industry experience.  The teaching philosophy at GolfTrack Academy was formulated with the student in mind by making golfing instruction easy to understand and enjoyable to learn. As I said, Golf Zone has you covered, including professional instruction.

With all this design consideration given to ‘Minnesota’s Year-Round Practice and Putt’ facility, the best differentiator in the operations is the customer service.  Brian and his entire staff of trained personnel are delivering the highest standards of customer care.  Those are not fake smiles that greet you and assist you throughout your visit, they are the real deal. With that kind of commitment, you can be assured that Golf Zone has your back and your game will be trending in the right direction.
