Briggs Woods Golf Course stands as a testament to the beauty and tranquility that Iowa has to offer. This picturesque golf course, located south of Webster City, combines stunning natural surroundings with an exciting and enjoyable golf course, making it a haven for golf enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Departing from the Twin Cities area, travelers typically take Interstate 35 South. As you cross into Iowa, the route passes Mason City before heading west on Highway 20 at exit 142B. In just 15 miles golf enthusiasts will find Briggs Woods Golf Course situated amidst the tranquility of Briggs Woods Park. The final stretch to the golf course reveals lush greenery, rolling hills, and the promise of a golfing experience surrounded by nature in the Boone River Valley.

Briggs Woods began as a nine-hole course in 1971. The redesign of the original nine and the addition of the second nine was completed in 1991. The staff also completed the clubhouse in 1991. Adding 11,250 square feet of versatile state-of-the-art indoor meeting and event space with vibrant outdoor activities, the Briggs Woods Conference Center opened in 2019.

One of the standout features of Briggs Woods Golf Course is its breathtaking natural setting. The course is situated within Briggs Woods Park, a 492-acre area that encompasses woodlands, prairies, and a scenic pond. Golfers can enjoy the serene ambiance and immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings as they navigate through the well-manicured fairways.

Golf Professional and Club Manager Blaine Buhr and his friendly and welcoming staff work hard to ensure a comfortable and relaxing experience. Golf Course Superintendent Travis Brown continues to provide excellent conditions to the course. The challenge level varies greatly between the front and the back. The front nine is relatively open, the back nine takes you into the trees. The course is fun but be ready to play carefully after you reach the 13th hole.
