Where to play...
Briggs Woods Golf Course, located along the Boone River just south of Webster City, Iowa, truly is worth the "drive"! This 18-hole course is a favorite of golfers from all over the Midwest and is one of the most challenging and scenic courses in Iowa. Trees and water hazards are the signature mark of this great golf course. The back nine has especially gained a reputation for being very challenging with several water hazards, doglegs and narrow, tree-lined fairways. Here, trees and water surround golfers as they traverse an ancient oxbow of the Boone River.The course covers more than 6,500 yards from the championship tees, 6,100 yards from the regular tees and more than 5,200 yards from the short tees. There are 4-par fives, 10-par fours and 4-par three holes. Briggs Woods was on the list of "Places to Play" in 2006/07 by Golf Digest. For those who don't wish to walk, carts are available for rent. Several paved cart paths make it easier to get around the course. The clubhouse offers food and beverages and is also a great location for wedding receptions, family gatherings, large group meetings and other events. Briggs Woods offers "Stay n Play" packages starting at only $120 per person with unlimited golf and cart usage. The green fees are very affordable and you don't have to worry about a long wait to get on the course to play.
Where to stay...
You can come on a Golf Package spring, summer or fall. One call to Briggs Woods gets you all set up. The will even arrange your lodging for you. Webster City has three options for lodging. The Executive Inn, is located 3 miles from the course and within walking distance of local restaurants and bars in Webster City. Under new ownership, the motel has been upgraded and improved. You can also request the AmericInn motel. It has an indoor pool, and hot tub. They also have a complementary continental breakfast. The AmericInn is located 2 miles from the course, just South of Highway 20 on Highway 17. All arrangements can be taken care of from the course. You can also request the Super 8 motel. It has an indoor pool, and game room. The Super 8 is located 2 miles from the course, just South of Highway 20 on Highway 17. The course can also take care of all reservations at the Super 8. If you enjoy camping, Briggs Woods Park & Lake is located right next door. The modern campground includes a new shower and bathroom facility as well as many beautiful and convenient campsites. Four rental cabins are also available. In addition to golf, Webster City has several attractions and numerous parks provide scenic overlooks, picnicking, walking and biking trails.

Bonebright Depot Complex
Six historic buildings make up the complex which includes the first Hamilton County Courthouse, the second Illinois Central Railroad Depot, the Jamison Log Cabin, the Brewer Cabin, Mulberry Center church, and Harmony Schoolhouse.
Scenic road route following the Des Moines River marks the trail used by Dragoons, a lightly armed group of Calvary soldiers who explored the topography of the Des Moines River in the 1830's.
Hamilton County Fairgrounds
Every July the fairground is home to the excitement of the Hamilton County Fair. During the summer weekly stock car racing is held at the Hamilton County Speedway on Saturday night.
Kendall Young Library
This historic and newly restored library features three extraordinary collections. Exhibits include the Foster Doll Collection, the Abastenia Eberle sculptures, and the Von Ness Native American artifacts.
Seven B Ranch
The privately owned ranch offers a variety of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The 70 acre ranch includes a restored barn, seven lakes, a horse pasture, petting zoo, canoeing, and beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, all combining with the natural beauty and wildlife of the area.
Webster City Community Theatre
This theatre facility, a restored church, is home to quarterly productions by local artists.
Boone River Recreational Trail
Enjoy a 1.95 mile 10 feet wide concrete trail along the scenic Boone River. This trail was created in 1998 and is designed to offer a variety of recreational options; walking, running, bicycling, or rollerblading.
Webster City Municipal Swimming Pool
Come enjoy the beautiful outdoor pool! The facility includes zero-depth entrance ramp, 25 meter lap lanes, diving well with low and high diving boards, and a 180 foot waterslide.
