A Lot Of Green Golf

By Brad Parrott

During this off-season, golfers on the south side of town will find a very pleasant surprise at A Lot of Green Golf. You’ve seen the golf dome just south of the intersection of County Road 42 and Burnsville Parkway for years, but you haven’t seen the great changes and improvements that have been made this fall to make A Lot of Green Golf even better than it was before.

For starters they have upgraded all of their simulators to five “High Definition Golf” simulators, which not only offer more realistic scenery including moving features, but more importantly boast 98% accuracy on most shots.

With many simulators you have to adjust your golf game to play the simulators. Having 98% accuracy means you do not have to adjust as much of your game and will be able to take the improvements made indoors right out to the course next spring.

The “High Definition Golf” simulators are loaded with many well known and “bucket list” locations. Most of the world famous courses including Pebble Beach, Pinehurst, Kiawah Island, Spyglass, Doral, Harbourtown, Troon North, Bethpage Black and Banff Springs. Bring your friends to play some of the courses that you might not be able to play in real life and be amazed by the views and accuracy of these state-of-the-art golf simulators.

During the off-season, two of the things golfers miss are competition and the camaraderie/atmosphere. The competition part is not too hard to replace, although the camaraderie and clubhouse feel is a little different. That feeling is what some of the improvements made at A Lot of Green Golf are geared toward.

A Lot of Green Golf manager Matt Berg recognizes the importance of having a comfortable place to “talk smack” with your playing partners not only during the round but also after. A comfortable sitting area as well as additional large screen TV’s are being added to increase the clubhouse feel.

For those of you looking for some competition, leagues will be forming in January and there are also some thoughts of hosting tournaments in the future. Leagues include: men’s leagues, women’s leagues, coed/couples leagues and floating leagues for your convenience. Floating leagues are extremely flexible, play once per week anytime, then track your score against the other players.

If you are looking to work on your swing and just hit some balls, not a problem. Each simulator has the option to be used in the driving range mode. Want to take it one step further and take some lessons to tune up your swing. A Lot of Green Golf offers lessons and one of the simulators is even set up with extra cameras to record different angles as well as all of the statistics of your swing.

A Lot of Green Golf also offers a 22 stall indoor domed driving range. The driving range is a perfect get-away on your lunch break. Hit a bucket of balls and work on your game, grab a quick bite to eat at the 19th Hole Sports Grill, then head back to work!

2013 driving range memberships are now available. Memberships entitle the holder to hit unlimited buckets of balls each day the range is open. Additional membership specials include discounts on simulator rental and more!

The 19th Hole Sports Grill offers a wide selection of simple meals from appetizers to sandwich baskets as well as pizzas. So whether you are looking to fuel up, keep the energy going, or refuel after the round, they have you covered.

No matter what you are looking for, A Lot of Green Golf is a place to check out to keep swinging your clubs even when we have a foot of snow on the ground.
